Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri is the Xmas release this year and and again like a few weeks back with Dhurandhar its about the feeding which again is very blatant. The big change in this feeding now is that its become very blatant which everyone can see so its basically saying we dont care and will do what we need to do.
Its so engrained in the film industry now that many distributors and exhibitors encourage it. There are multiplex chains giving deals at cheaper rates if bulk buys go through them. This makes it easier as you dont need outside agencies and less costly but its much more blatant. You cant really blame the multiplexes either as its business for them which otherwise would not be there.
Feeding is a sign of a weak product because there is no other real reason to do but Dhurandhar which started with feeding has gone on to become the biggest BLOCKBUSTER of recent times and now its actually one of the more organic mega grossers of recent times with under 1% feeding. Some films are fed for initial perception while other are done to make them look bigger than they actually are. Its a sad state of affairs but its what it is.
Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri is a rom com which makes things difficult anyway with the genre today having very limited mass appeal and on top you have a Dhurandhar and Avatar - Fire And Ash doing well which will hit business. There will be an issue in showcasing but more than its about the audience preferring other films. If advances were better than the showcasing would be better also but main problem is the audience is not there.
The film will have NUMBERS instead of COLLECTIONS and the level is an unknown yet as its not known are the inputs all done or is there more to come. This will not be the last time this happens and from the Dhurandhar experience its best to wait till the dust settles when this is happenning as initial feeding doess not mean failure if there are merits.
