Heropanti 2 and Runway 34 had a huge struggle at the box office as they failed to make much of an impact on day one. Heropanti 2 will collect around the 7 crore nett range while Runway 34 will be in the 3-3.25 crore nett range. These are the lowest opening day numbers for Ajay Devgn and Tiger Shroff for sometime. More than that the dull performance has come over the Eid period which can propel films to huge success. They can do better over the holiday period but from these levels they are very unlikely to get numbers which can be called good which will mean a big holiday period going to waste.

KGF 2 was the leader at national multiplexes on the day as it collected 40% more than both Heropanti 2 and Runway 34. Heropanti had bulk bookings in advance at these national chains so when that figure gets added it comes out higher in the chains, Despite what these collections show the somewhat better performance of Heropanti 2 was in mass belts. Here it was the leader as it had more screens than KGF 2.

But if the film does not sustain in these cinemas over the next day or two then these cinemas may well go back to KGF 2 in time for Eid. The multiplex movement was very slow for Heropanti 2 on the day and whatever the film is doing here is generally the advance done pre release and it is basically relying on holds in mass belts in order to keep the single screens for the Eid crowd.  At the end of the day an action film like this needed a better start as they are frontloaded.

Runway 34 also did poor numbers on day one and the difference between Heropanti 2 and this film is the mass belts and those advance bulk buys at national chains for Heropanti 2. The film hardly has a release in mass belts due to KGF 2 and Heropanti and where it has managed to get theatres the collections are practically nothing. The evening shows were better for the film so it should show some growth tomorrow but its about how much and can it go higher further on Sunday.

KGF 2 was rock solid on its third Friday as it collected around 4-4.25 crore nett. There is a drop from Thursday but it still managed to collect more than Runway and more than Heropanti 2 at multiplexes if we take only on the day collections.
