Raid 2 has seen a good solid opening all over and has the potential of a HIT film. The film had good advances of around 93k at the national chains which fell a little short of the 1 lakh mark but still thats a good result and the film has opened to good numbers on the morning of release. If we compare the morning collections with Shaitan then Raid 2 looks better.

It was Mahashivratri for Shaitaan and here it is Maharashtra / May day with Raid 2 so both films are a holiday. The big advantage of Raid 2 looks to be Gujarat as Shaitaan did not open too well in Gujarat and eventually did also not do well but Raid 2 has started very well in Gujarat which is going to lead to strong opening day collections in Mumbai circuit.

Shaitaan opened at 15 crore nett and this is looking to surpass that number for the opening day collections. The sequel factor has come into play as Raid in 2018 was a liked film and Raid 2 has got benefit of that. The genre of the film is not actually best for an initial and it does not have the commercial elements of action and music so to start in this way is a huge boost for the film. Shaitaan had the horror factor and this does not have that either but in todays time the sequel factor maybe stands above all. As long the franchise is liked.

The HIT word has become redundant for the film industry but maybe this will change with Raid 2 and the next few days will tell.
