Samrat Prithviraj had a drop in collections as it saw a drop of 55% to collect in the 5 crore nett range. The drop was less in UP with collections going down 40% there while other places like Rajasthan and CI were also on the right side of 50% but generally collections fell in the 55-60% range from Friday.

This takes the total of the film to 44 crore nett plus and the week should end around 56 crore nett. the hold is simply not good enough as the film needed to be dropping around 30% for a chance to do good business in the final run. The little plus apart from decent business in a couple of circuits is that it should do enough business to cover its 200 crore costs from all revenue sources as due to the costs this could have lost money if it went the way of other big films which have not managed to collect at all from the theatres. this was looking a possibility on Thursday evening.

The next major release in Hindi in Jug Jug Jiyo which is almost three weeks away but because of this drop in Monday it is unlikley that Samrat Prithviraj will get much benefit. The weekend collections of Samrat Prithviraj are as follows.

Friday - 10,75,00,000 apprx

Saturday - 12,50,00,000 apprx

Sunday - 16,00,00,000 apprx

Monday - 5,00,00,000 apprx

TOTAL - 44,25,00,000 apprx
