Simmba had an excellent weeeknd of 75.25 crore nett apprx as it recorded a huge Sunday of over 30 crore nett with collections set to be in the 31 crore nett range depending on the final number in Mumbai. It was the fourth best weekend of the year with onley Sanju, Race 3 and Thugs Of Hindostan ahead of it. The weekend was also the best ever for Ranveer Singh beating Padmaavat by a small amount. The film is around 23 crore nett better than Zero over the first weekend despite a similar start on the Friday morning shows

The film has done excellent business in Mumbai with collections in the 30 crore nett range and other circuits range from very good to good. Tamil Nadu / Kerala is poor but that circuit hardly matters foir Hindi films. The film has grossed close to 14 crore in Delhi / UP while East Punjab is 6.35 crore nett. These are very good numbers for a Maharashtra based film.

The first Singham which is a similar film did not do well in these parts but the second one did and the numbers of Simmba are better than Singham Returns in the North while the all Indian number for Simmba is a little less. The collections of Simmba till date are as follows..

Friday - 20,50,00,000 apprx

Saturday - 23,75,00,000 apprx.

Sunday - 31,00,00,000 apprx

TOTAL - 75,25,00,000 apprx

The film should hold well on Monday and Tuesday as it will be in holiday period but the real test will come on Wednesday. The film looks pretty certain to hold in places like Maharashtra and Gujarat but it will be the holds in other places which will probably determine where the film will eventually go.

If places like Delhi and Punjab drop off after the holidays then the collections will become low in these places and a really huge lifetime number will be tough. Mumbai circuit seems set for a huge 75 crore nett total.
