Welcome To The Jungle is scoring well on the first day as collections are generally 40% above the last Akshay Kumar starrer Bhooth Bangla and this should enable the film to go to a 15 crore nett plus total for the first day. The figure cant be called good but from where the film was standing a couple of days back when advances opened or even yesterday evening this is an excellent number and there will be relief with all concened with the film.

Now its down to the film as if the merits are there it will do well in the long run otherwise not but had this first day figure statyed in the Bhooth Bangla range or lower which it did look like yesterday then merits may not have mattered much as there are limitations as to how much a film can sustain or grow especially a commercial one.

There is a holiday for Muharram which is a good holiday as its there in most of the states and Welcome In The Jungle has benefitted in places like UP, Bihar and Rajasthan where collections are very good. If the film had this sort of momentum and it was not a holiday the you could proclaim a HIT already but there will be a long way to go as these mass areas which are very good could drop on day two before they go up on Sunday.

Its been a rollercoaster ride for the film since it started but after day one of release it will be standing in a pretty good position and with a shot at doing well at the box office over the next few weeks.
