The Diplomat collected 13 crore nett plus over its first weekend which is a low collection but the trend of the film was good. This does not show up in the numbers due to Holi but the film basically matched the trend of a blockbuster holdover film like Chhaava. It means the actual growth on Saturday could have been 70-80% or even more.

The numbers are not much as to what the film needs but they are higher than what would have been expected especially as the film was released with no hype and promotion. This actually does not matter if the film has the elements to the masses interested but this is not that type of film so probably needed a push.

The weekend trend is good enough but more crucial is what happens on Monday and eventually the film is in that thriller zone where holds are tougher. The Monday is crucial if the film is to get a decent run till Eid. It will run till Eid but a Monday hold can mean at decent levels of business.  The collections of The Diplomat till date are as follows.
