Stree 2 is in overdrive on Sunday as collections go up another level and Sunday is looking to be the best day of the film so far. The film is looking almost certain to collect more than the 53 crore nett plus it did on the first day and that was a huge holiday so even if you get close its a big result.

The best comparison for the film is KGF2 (Hindi) as that was a Thursday release and also dominated by huge numbers in the Hindi circuits and less in South due to lesser release. KGF 2 did not get to its opening day number on Sunday and this is despite the opening day holiday of KGF 2 not being Independence Day which is a far bigger holiday compared to the holiday of KGF 2.

The four day weekend excluding paid previews is going to be similar to KGF 2 as that film also had a holiday on Friday but with the Sunday number going this high the holds are sure to better which means bigger lifetime number. Stree 2 recording a higher Sunday despite opening on a holiday like Independence Day and that too with a huge number means something really big is happening here and it could join those HISTORIC BLOCKBUSTER films as the masses are just lapping up the film. 

It again illustrates the reach factor which majority of the Hindi releases just dont have. There was a time when every other Hindi had reach so there was potential to collect and that potential was dependent on the content. Today that reach is dead for most films with very limited appealing stories and themes coming out and alienating the audience. Like Gadar 2 last year it also proves that 300, 400 and 500 crore budgets are not needed to get among the biggest grossers and now Stree 2 is set to do the same.
