Satyaprem Ki Katha had slow start at the box office but should benefit from the Eid holiday as the day progresses. The film has been hit in the North and South by major regional releases. There are releases in Punjabi, Tamil and Telugu and while the Tamil one hardly matters the other two will hit collections in the North and Nizam / Andhra.

The film has a good young cast but the trailer was dry and the songs could not make much impact making the opening tough for the film. The film is one of those films which maybe could have fared better before the pandemic but today a love story like this which is a bit on the mature side does not offer much for the youth or masses. 

The biggest advantage for the film is Eid and it remains to be seen where the first day can land and then its down to the public reports which can give the film a chance and th hold the collections up over the long weekend.  If the film can do something or sustain at the box office it would be mean this sort of love story can also survive at the box office but there is a long road ahead for that to happen.
