The Kashmir Files has done very good business on day one as it collects in the 3.25 crore nett range with a strong evening push from a good to decent start in the morning shows. The film was released on around 700 screens mainly multiplexes and it gathered up good occupancies. The film is the first urban concentrated release to score solid numbers post the pandemic.
The business is generally good all over the country and the film does not have to do much from here to emerge a HIT. Its just about some good growth over Saturday and Sunday, generally films of these type need a huge growth on Saturday but this has done well enough on day one that an upward trend will enable a good weekend.
Radhe Shyam is a big disappointment and this can always happen with such huge films which dont have that face value. The collections of the film look around 4.50 crore nett but there could be some upside to this number as circuits like CP Berar and Odisha and even Saurashtra may give higher numbers than expected. There will also be some decent numbers from Hyderabad and although that comes under the books of the Telugu Nizam distributors it is eventually collections in Hindi.
The film does not have much hope from this sort of start because its mass centres doing a bit better and they will not grow much so its unlikely the film will have a huge jump on Saturday. The Telugu version has done very well and may well be around the 30 crore nett mark but there were cracks there also on day one which does not offer much hope for the long run.
Gangubai Kathiwadi is fantastic and collections could be pretty much similar to the second Thursday despite the competition of The Kashmir Files and Radhe Shyam. No doubt the film will challenge the two new releases over the weekend.
