Mardaani 3 had a fair start though the film is dependent on what happens on Saturday and Sunday. The issue is always that the start is such that the weekend does not matter and that is not the case here. Mardaani was released in 2014 and opened around 3.50 crore nett while Mardaani 2 released in 2019 and opened 3.75 crore nett.

Here the task will be to get in the same range as those films and although its a few years down the line now the business has not really improved for these type of films and actually its probably less as so much of this sort of content is there on television. This film is a franchise so that will be helping. The trailer was pretty much on the same lines as the previous films.

The previous films did better in West Bengal and it could be a repeat here or at least this circuit can out perform. The heroine Rani Mukherjee has a draw in this circuit when its towards that content based cinema. There were a few other releases this like Human Cocaine, Mayasabha and some dubbed South film Gandhi Talks but there will be no awareness The latter is said to be a SILENT film.

Border 2 continues to dominate the box office and will easily remain the top film. There is a drop in collections on Friday morning which is the case with most holdovers but it will run stronger post the afternoon and it remains to be seen how close it can get to the Thursday number. A double digit second Friday or near would be a very good result.
