Dhurandhar continues to dominate the box office as it looks to record a phenomenal third Friday and it could be that it hardly sees a drop from the previous day and this will be with the release of Avatar - Fire And Ash. It is easily beating Avatar - Fire And Ash across the Hindi circuits including Mumbai circuit and if it manages to get a similar number to Dhurandhar it will be down to South India.

The opening of Avatar - Fire And Ash can be called good from the point of view of that it will be the biggest Hollywood opening of the year but it is below the mark from what is expected of this franchise which opened at around 40 crore nett and here it could be less than 50% of that though you expect an evening pick up.

The advances had opened sometime back and that urgency was not there despite being a huge franchise though just like there is an issue for Hindi films it seems a similar problem for Hollywood releases. The difference is Hollywood has South and the performance there remains good. the Hindi belts seem to be preferring content which has a more Indian feel and business in Mumbai and Delhi does not look the same for Hollywood as it was before the pandemic. 

The hope for Avatar - Fire And Ash will be that it picks up and it can benefit from the holiday period if it holds on Monday. Meanwhile Dhurandhar will set another huge record on its third Friday and now the chase is very much on for that Pushpa 2 number of 725 crore nett plus and become the top Hindi grosser. The film could be the top organic Hindi film by the end of week three beating Stree 2. 

The film is challenging and beating the big grossers despite the first weekend being under 100 crore nett so this pretty much sums up how the film has worked.
