Dhurandhar has taken a fair opening with good collections in metros but below the mark elsewhere. its actually a tough one to say much about at the moment as the film will be in two parts so the recovery will come from 2 parts when it was just one film a month ago.
The other issue is the film had these block bookings when advances opened but it was not a concern as it was pretty limited but on Thursday night there this was pushed up to a considerably higher level and you just hope the makers dont make a mockery of the film like a Sky Force. Its a sad state of affairs and you dont really want to be writing this sort of stuff but some makers just go a little too far.< Some more than a little./p>
Its hard even to judge where the first day will go as you dont what these makers are going to do as in is this is it or is there more to come on the day. if more is done on the day then it will just become a number instead of collection. Its a sad state of affairs as it was not as if the opening was as bad as a 83 and there are two films to cover the investment.
The trailer made some impact in the metros especially Mumbai circuit and South but the rest of the country did not care much. Its an urban action film which does not have the face value to deserve such a budget but two films make recovery easier if the first one gets some appreciation. It will be an interesting weekend to see is the film left to its own merits or will interventions be made.
