Pushpa 2(Hindi) looks to be heading for a record advance as it clocks up around 20 crore nett in advance for the opening day with one more day to go. The advances on Tuesday saw an issue with the 3D release not happening so while at places these were taken out and others are depending on what the consumer does with the 3D booking as shows have been generally converted to 2D. It should not matter much as the momentum is just lost in the numbers and not on the ground as urgency to watch remains.

The highest advance ever for a Hindi film for the first day is 28.75 crore nett for Jawan and that looks likely to be beaten by the end of business today as Pushpa 2 is total carnage in mass centres. The advances at the national chains will not get near the Jawan or Pathaan numbers due to certain reasons but elsewhere it will be well ahead and the overall advance should go past Jawan.

The national chains are probably heading for a finish in the 4 lakh range which may not be record breaking but is actually outstanding due to external factors of some other films and the general share of business from the national chains coming down. Also this ratio will get better on the last day of advance and on the first day of release. It will be very surprising if the national chains end up with just 35% of the business at the end of day one.

It remains to be seen where the final advances finishes tonight but the film has a shot of the highest first day total of Jawan as all of the hindi circuits are already pretty much locked to finish higher the Jawan. The issue is there will be limited business in South where regional versions will dominate and its about the margins that Pushpa can put up in the Hindi belts. An all time record looks certain the biggest circuit Mumbai as well as the likes of Bihar and Odisha. The hardest circuits look like Delhi / UP and East Punjab and if these two can hit records than it may well be the Jawan number will be beaten even with limited South.

In the South it is extraordinary in home market of Nizam / Andhra while Mysore / Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Kerala are also very good.
