Bad Newz has emerged the sixth highest opening of the year but was one of the very few films which can be said to have opened well. The number is a good number for the zone of the film as the biggest film in this zone post pandemic is probably Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar in terms of initial and that was 14 crore nett on a holiday. The fair value probably goes down to 10.50 crore nett and here a smaller film is getting to 8 crore nett plus.

Still the only film which has had a good opening without the support of holidays or incentives is Kalki 2898 AD and the original Hindi films have needed holidays and incentives to take them into that good bracket. A little better performance by Bad Newz in mass pockets would have meant this film going into that good bracket without a holiday or incentive.

Hopefully the next few months change things for the better as far as openings go for original Hindi films because when a film like Bad Newz can get the 8 crore nett number up without any mass support the potential is there for far bigger numbers.. Fighter remains the top original Hindi opener but the opening was not up to the mark  for the film. The top ten opening day collections for Hindi films in 2024 are as follows.
