Animal had collected almost 12 crore nett on its third Saturday which took its overall total to 438 crore nett with another big day on Sunday to come. If Sunday can get that 25-30% growth this week the film would be looking at a 35 crore plus weekend.

The main comparison for Animal is Gadar 2 as both films released on a Friday where as a Jawan and Pathaan had extended first weeks. Animal did better than Gadar 2 on its third Friday but was lower on the Saturday. The overall collections lead Gadar 2 by around 6-7 crore nett after 16 days of release. The 500 crore nett mark is very dependent on what happens post the third week and how it can collect when Dunki and Salaar release and can it get a decent number of shows in its fourth week.

There have many directors from the South coming to the Hindi film industry and making a mark in the hindi film indsutry but generally the films had that South feel or you can say were different from the way the films made by the Bombay makers looked.  No doubt some of these did very well especially in the 60's but it was more to do with the huge male stars in them

The last import from the South to have an impact was Ram Gopal Verma but his films were restricted heavily to Mumbai circuit but you cant say they had a South feel but mainly did business in Mumbai circuit with the underworld and all that. Here you have a director from the South who is making more North Indian films than the makers from the Hindi film industry and this is with both Animal and Kabir Singh.
