The big release this week is from Hollywood with Fast X releasing on Thursday and its taken a decent opening. The opening would have been good if it was not from this franchise which has done well in India over the years. The opening is far better than recent Hollywood releases but a little bit more was expected from this film.
The advances had opened a month back and did not move as good as some of the Marvel films over the last year but there was a better response over the last few days. The last Furious film got a late release in India due to the pandemic so that was reflected in the box office collections.
Fast & Furious 8 took an opening of over 6 crore nett and Fast X is easily beating that but Fast & Furious 7 which at the time was the first Hollywood film which went to UFO and Qube cinemas and got a release which was 1000 screens higher than biggest Hollywood films of that time collected around 11.50 crore nett.
This will be the target here as Fast X has opened well enough to get into double digits but it remains to seen how much higher does the film go than 10 crore nett. The fact that the film has opened on Thursday rather than Friday will also be reflected in the opening day box office collections.
