The Adipurush trailer has released and it is showing the film in a better light. The postponement of Jawaan meant the summer box office was heavily dependent on Adipurush and the teaser of the film released months back was not really up to the mark giving the film a feel of an animation film.

There was other negativity regarding the depiction of characters which leads to calls for a boycott but that is never a major issue as long there is actual interest in a film. The animation feel was a problem because mass pockets dont really go for animation and for the metros with a south face leading the marquee it starts to look a like a South Indian animation film. So you are left in no mans land but the trailer is much better and gives the film a good chance.

The plus is a lesser animation feel and story of the film comes through well in the trailer. The background music / songs gives the film the potential to elevate the emotions and if this comes out on the big screen there will be no stopping the film. The story is known by all and has huge reach so it becomes about the presentation and emotions. Here the trailer is scroing on these accounts where the teaser had failed.

Adipurush should now open well enough in the Hindi circuits for a good start and from there a film based on Ramayan has huge potential if it connects. The youth in bigger centres (Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata) may have less interest initially but post release if the film works these cities will also be on board.

A huge plus for the film is the voice of the hero as its the same voice as Bahubali which should enable the dialogues to have an impact. If the voice was as in Saaho or Radhe Shyam you could have just written off this type of epic story film. The failure of main leads form the South as actors has been the voice. Even the non acceptance in North and Hindi circuits of an acclaimed actor down South like Kamal Hassan was largely down to voice and dialogue delivery.

The voice of the main lead is of huge importance for these films with South main leads as generally they are larger than life characters so the voice and delivery must match up to the larger than life character. In Saaho and Radhe Shyam this went all wrong but there is no such mistake in Adipurush.
