The advance booking of Sooryavanshi started at places yesterday (Oct 26th) with select non national multiplexes and single screens opening plans. The national chains are yet to open plans and this is where the better advance is likely as post pandemic the advance numbers have generally been coming from the big 3 chains.
This should start to change once films release but an advance outside national chains barring select theatres will be impossible for Sooryavanshi though hopefully the national chains should see good results especially for the opening day.
Wherever the advance ends next Thursday its going to be about the on the day crowd this is crucial and will make or break the film. The holiday will be a huge boost and the film will be banking on that. The communication also must be good as its after 18 months that cinemas are going to open at many places and the public must know that Sooryavanshi is releasing in their local theatre.
Bell Bottom had a digital campaign and generally the industry thinks this has a huge reach but that may not be the case for the Hindi belt at a ground level and these places may need the traditional methods through paper ads especially for the first film back. When things are up and running then it could be different. If Sooryavanshi can get the hindi belt going it would mean a huge result for the film as other places are collecting well or showing signs of collecting well while the Hindi belt is in the doldrums.
The film can also do without speculation of a digital release date one week before theatrical release date as in this situation you cannot afford to loose any potential theatrical audience.
