Honsla Rakh took a bumper opening in East Punjab and Delhi city was also very good and this is the first time that the word bumper can be used with any release in Hindi circuits. The South may have seen some but no Hindi circuit till date. The Dusshera holiday has aided the film but to see this sort of response despite capacity rules is fantastic.

These capacity rules will play spoilsport in the evening when most shows could easily go housefull with the actual capacity. The opening in the smaller centres is also very good even though the film is more on the urban side. Honsla Rakh is historic in Delhi (for Punjabi film), Chandigarh, Ludhiana, Jalandhar and Amritsar.

The target for the film will be to beat the 2.43 crore nett Shadaa did all India which is the highest opening for a Punjabi film. This is on the cards at the moment but there will be capacity issues later on the day and it will be down the numbers outside East Punjab to take higher than Shadaa.

The next best opener is Carry On Jatta 2 at 2.37 crore nett but this films holds the record opening in East Punjab at 2.01 crore nett and if Honsla Rakh beats this it would be an outstanding achievement. Shadaa collected 1.90 crore nett in teh East Punjab belt.

The top Punjabi openers are as follows and hopefully Honsla Rakh will sit above both films. Both Shadaa and Carry On Jatta 2 were non holiday but the capacity restrictions for Honla Rakh equals it out.

Punjab - 1,90,00,000

Rest - 53,00,000

TOTAL - 2,43,00,000

Carry On Jatta 2

Punjab - 2,01,00,000

Rest - 36,00,000

TOTAL - 2,37,00,000
