Thailavii saw a drop in collections which was inevitable as the bulk of the business was coming from South which drops faster than the Hindi circuits. The film is looking at first week business which will be 6 crore nett at best. The Hindi circuits will be around 1.50 crore nett. The only positive for the film is the business from Chennai city and that is from the perspective that it has scored over the local film Labaam in Chennai city when that film probably had more going for it as far as Chennai is concerned. In Hindi some cinemas recorded better numbers than Friday and overall Hindi did not drop much but the collections are hardly anything.
The Telugu film Seetimarr opened at 4 crore nett on day one is also struggling as the four day business of the film is yet to reach 10 crore nett. Telugu films are also heavily frontloaded so this is sort of par for the course but still holds should be a little better. There are ticket pricing issues in Andhra with the state government and this has delayed the bigger films. The daily collections of Tailavii across India are as follows.
Friday - 1,35,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 1,60,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 1,80,00,000 apprx
Monday - 65,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 5,40,00,000 apprx
