The Independence Day numbers for 2019 are basically lower than last year due to the under performance of Batla House. The NETT numbers are similar but there has been a change in GST rates over last year the last year and GROSS numbers are 8% less than last year and this is with higher ticket rates.
The combined numbers last year were 43 crore nett and they are similar this year but the GROSS numbers are 55 crore and 51 crore respectively. The hope will be that the lifetime numbers come out better as both film should have better legs than last year as both the releases struggled to hold.
But this again proves that the big task in the industry is the initials as a higher the first day occupancy then higher the potential business. The numbers of Mission Mangal are excellent and Batla House is decent but on a holiday there was potential for more considering the numbers of last year. The figures for Independence Day last year and this year are as follows. The 2019 figures may go up or down 2-3% as they are apprx but the picture basically remains the same.
