The all India business of 2.0 got a boost on Saturday with collections of 56-57 crore nett. The jump was driven by the Hindi circuits especially North and Mumbai but the Southern markets are sustaining. This film has a lot of negativity in the South and it mainly seems to be coming from the Tamil film industry or people linked to that industry when in truth it is THE film of that industry and should be the pride of that industry.
The negativity was pretty clear on Thursday evening when these 12 and 13 crorre GROSS numbers from Tamil Nadu started to do the rounds. But at the end of the day you may have some takers for this sort of rubbish but in the wider picture its just some sort of agenda or limited knowledge of box office numbers. In short 2.0 is to the Tamil film industry what Sholay is to the Hindi film industry and Bahubali is to the Telugu film industry. It may not reverberate at the levels of those films across India but that does not take away the fact that it stands apart from what has come and gone in the Tamil industry so far by a distance. So negativity for the best ever in your industry is just crazy.
The other reason for the agenda could be the hero Rajnikant but the fact there is this guy has dominated that industry for 38 years now and it can be pretty much said it will never find such a megastar again. In fact maybe the industry can attempt to make a film at the level of 2.0 again in time but the stardom of Rajnikant in Tamil cinema will not be repeated.
When there is negativity about a film like Thugs of Hindostan then it is understandable as its public rejection but with 2.0 there is no such thing and the film has been liked by the vast majority be it Amritsar or Ambur.
The first three day NETT collections 2.0 across India are as follows.

The film will go past 200 crore nett on Sunday and will basically become the highest grossing film (not adjusted) in the history of Tamil cinema in four days in India and worldwide. The worldwide figures should comfortably cross 300 crore by the end of business on Sunday
