The pecking order for upcoming actors is as below. It takes into account average nett gross of their respective films over the last five and a half years. This normally would not work but correctly but these younger actors all have a similar volume of work. Its not like an Akshay Kumar having 15 plus films over a five year period while an Aamir Khan may have just 3-4. There are some films like Dilwale, Brothers and M.S. Dhoni - The Untold Story which maybe should not be included as the reason for their numbers was probably not the actors below. This would probably change the scenario a little like Ranveer Singh going above Varun Dhawan and Sushant Singh Rajput not even being in the list but then other films can also be omitted due to other reasons like music and director contribution.
A solid established star position is probably to average around 100 crore nett over a five year period with the sort of volume these actors have but none of actors are there yet and some probably have no chance to achieve this feat. There will be the entry of new actors over the next couple of years which will mean some of these actors will drop out as the industry finds replacements. That can be seen with Shahid Kapoor who has been around the longest but is below all the others and is now even relegated to second leads to a younger actor. Another point is that there is a gap between the top three and the others which probably signals a two tier bracketing among the young actors with the best work likely to go the top three. Since Independence in 1947 the game has always been about box office as far as male stars are concerned but with the newer generation some may believe awards (which are all fake), so called critics (who are all fake) and general good media perception for them can take them places but it would prove to be an expensive mistake as whether anyone admits or not its all about the numbers be it film or actor.
