The Punjabi film Vekh Baraatan Challiyan has emerged a huge hit as the the film looks at a weeeknd of over 4.50 crore nett across India. The film does not have major star presence but the comedy is being lapped up by audiences in Punjab. The Delhi figures are low due to limited face value but they will do better as the film goes along. 

The Punjabi industry has seen some good to decent runners with Rabb Da Radio, Manjhe Bistre, Lahoriye and Super Singh but this one is the first one which many have the word of mouth to really sustain. The first two day collections of the film across India are as follows.

Friday - 1,20,00,000

Saturday - 1,50,00,000

TOTAL - 2,70,00,000

The Saturday business is a strong sign as Punjabi films that open tend not to show this sort of growth. The film will have huge competition from hindi films in the weeks to come but if Sunday goes to around 2 crore nett it may give those Hindi films some competition.
