Jailer 2 is continuing its strong run and has become the second Tamil film to cross 400 crore nett after 2.0 which just edged past the 400 crore nett mark with 403 crore nett. Jailer 2 stands at a huge 437 crore nett and still two days left of the third week. The film has done outstanding business all over South with weak link being the Hindi circuits and this is not because of the non release in multiplex chains.

The film will cross 40 crore nett which will actually make it the second best grosser in the Hindi belts for a Tamil film after 2.0 but in terms of success there have been much bigger films like Hindustani (1996) and Humse Hai Muqabala (1995) and probably a few others. The non chains release probably cost the film around 15 crore nett so it could have done 55 crore nett.

There probably will be a thought in the South that the film could have more than doubled its present business with the national chains but it does not work that way as much of the audience that wants to watch would have found another cinema. Also these films are not exactly the best in the national chains. Still the dubbed Hindi versions Rajni - The Jailer 2 is an average fare.

The film is the biggest BLOCKBUSTER for the Tamil film industry since Enthiran in 2010 and the only task that remains is to become the biggest film in Tamil Nadu and at the moment its around 15 crore nett short of Leo (2023) and it remains to be seen if it can cover this distance.
