War 2 advances started on a good note as the national chains sold around 20k tickets on the first day of advance and this was without key centres in South like Hyderabad and Bangalore due to ticket pricing issues to be sorted. These centres tend to have the stronger advances for similar films like War 2. The advances are good but there is not that organic euphoria which was there with films like KGF 2, Gadar 2, Animal and Pushpa 2 when they opened the ticket counters.

It is difficult tell at the moment where the advances are going and there will be a better idea as Bangalore and Hyderabad open up though you can never be sure if that will actually happen today. No doubt these advances are good enough to ensure that the film will open well but its going to about what sort of momentum it goes with into the first day as expectations are huge and you have to get a number which allows the second day to target around 60 crore nett as its a big national holiday and one of the biggest days of the year..

The film should do best in East as Hrithik Rohsan has a draw in Kolkata (probably second to Shahrukh Khan) and the other hero from South N.T. Rama Rao Jnr will push the numbers in Odisha. South should also be very good in Hindi despite it being dubbed in regional languages but there is the clash with Coolie which is huge down there so its not known how much that film will affect. 

The harder part today for a film in this zone is East Punjab, CPCI Rajasthan and Maharashtra / Gujarat and its not that these will be low its just that record or near record numbers are expected and these raw mass films like Gadar 2 and KGF2 have really pushed the numbers in these areas and this is not taking Puhspa 2 into consideration as that is another level. If we take out East Punjab then if War 2 can match up to an Animal in the other above mentioned circuits then War 2 would have done its job.
