Fighter has had a decent first day as it collected around 22-23 crore nett and although this collection may not look much for the scale of the film it came due to a good boost in the evening as in the morning it was touch and go whether it would get to 20 crore nett even taking into account the better evening collections to come due to the big national holiday tomorrow.

So basically despite the under performance the film has done well to get to this number on day one and laid a platform for the second day where advances are strong and there should be a huge current crowd in mass circuits due to the big holiday.

The collections have suffered due to low collections in mass circuits where collections are pretty similar to Dunki when this is an action film and that was social. The only mass pocket which may come out better than Dunki is Gujarat and maybe the smaller circuits of the East but still Gujarat will record poor collections.

It is all going to be about how big the film can jump on Friday and then more importatntly how well it can hold post the big national holiday over the weekend. A 100 crore nett plus total is a must over the next three days and preferably more if it is to really hold post the extended weekend. The first big film of the year could have opened better to give confidence for a very tough year ahead but it was not to be but if it can sustain post the weekend that should be good enough.
