Bholaa has seen a slow advance and it is a film where advance should not be opening this early as its a very current film with heavy action without the other commercial elements. It is a very single screen type film so there is not going to be much of an advance which today is dominated by the bigger multiplexes. The worst part is when advance opens so early and tickets hardly sell it gets written off within the industry in quick time and this just spreads negativity..
The advances seem to be heading to a similar range to films like Cirkus, Bhediya and Shehzada (unless the last day gets more momentum) but the response should be better on the day compared to these films as the film has more for smaller centres and its a part holiday for Ram Navami. The target is probably a double digit first day for the film which will give the film a platform.
The film is a remake of a South film so a lot does depend on how that South content travelled on digital and satellite and if it was widely seen then it becomes an issue as the numbers of people coming to the theatres are less post pandemic and a story which has been seen limits this audience further.
The period may not be the best for this type of film with Ramadan on but that is compesated by a a number of holidays in the first 10-12 days of the film but to benefit there it will be about the appreciation. Its a catch 22 situation for the film as its target audience will be hit by Ramadan but if it can get appreciation in the bigger centres then the holidays will push the collections.
