Bhediya (Hindi) had a low first weekend of around 26,75 crore nett and it should have done better. The growth over the weekend was fair but it just never got enough of the audience into theatres. The opening day numbers were the real problem and just too low which put pressure on the Saturday and Sunday business,

The film probably outlines the problems with the Hindi film industry today as the storytelling of the film is probably too western or upmarket going by the collections in mass markets. It is shocking that a film like Jugjugg Jeeyo had better collections over the weekend in the likes of Rajasthan and CI as the bigger centres of these circuits collected more for Jugjugg Jeeyo. This potentially looked a far wider appealing film than Jugjugg Jeeyo but it has not turned out that way as far as the box office goes.

The first weekend of Jugjufgg Jeeyo was around 34 crore nett which is almost 30% better than Bhediya. The music may have  played a key part in this as better music for Bhediya would have surely meant a better initial. The film now needs a very good hold on Monday and it will be hard going by the business on Sunday but if it can somehow get a hold a strong hold Monday there are a few open weeks in from of it with weak competition till the arrival Avatar in Mid December. .
