Thank God collected around 7.50 crore nett on its first day which is a fair number for the film but it had to be more due to the Diwali holiday. If it was not the big holiday then this woudl be a solid start. There are some decent numbers in places like UP, Gujarat, Rajasthan and CI but the holiday is taking numbers in these places to decent levels rather than good levels.

The film was second fiddle to the bigger film Ram Setu in all circuits but it could have have been closer in some areas if it was a mass comedy but it came out more of a family entertainer which held back collections in mass pockets as Ram Setu was the first choice. There could have been more penetration in mass markets if it was promoted as a two hero films also but Ajay Devgn was missing in promotion which made it look like it was a guest role from him.

Thank God should keep on collecting well over the Diwali period especially in the Hindi circuits but these collections will generally be coming because of the holiday factor and it remains to be seen how the lower collecting areas like East Punjab, Maharashtra and West Bengal can hold as even with the holiday they have not collected much.
