Spiderman No Way Home set for release on Friday has taken a huge advance as tickets came available today. The film had already opened in some properties in the South last week with extraordinary response and it was no different when the advance opened in Mumbai and Delhi.

The advance opened today mainly limited to Imax and other major properties but within an hour sales topped 50 lakhs nett on these very limited properties. This is great news after the disappointments of the last few weeks after Sooryavanshi but again its that big film where the audience is ready to fly to the theatres.

The advance of Spiderman No Way Home will be historic and may well be among the top advances of all time in terms of collections. There is a long way to go for that but it cant be witten of with this sort of advance the film has started with but it is post pandemic and the trends can be different than earlier. The biggest advances till date are Avengers Endgame and Bahubali - The Conclusion with best Hindi film being War in third place.

No doubt it will be the biggest advance post the pandemic and although Sooryavanshi did not open advance counters at most theatres even if it had it would not match the advance of Spiderman No Way Home. This does not mean a better opening than Sooryavanshi as the on the day crowd is far stronger for Hindi big films as the advances are more limited compared to Hollywood which get a huge boost through Imax and 3D sales.
