The box office in USA showed more positive signs this week as the long weekend cumulative total hit $100 million for the first time since last March. A Quiet Place - Part 2 raked up $48 million over its three day weekend making it the biggest opener since the pandemic started beating the $32 million of Godzilla Vs Kong.

The Godzilla Vs Kong numbers was good considering the pandemic but with A Quiet Place - Part 2 the number was good be it pandemic or no pandemic. Cruella had a same day release on Disney Plus which would have hit collections. A Quiet Place - Part 2 was a only a theatrical release. The top opening weekends in USA / Canada since the pandemic started last March are as follows.
