Uri - The Surgical Strike edged past the NETT numbers of Simmba to become the tenth highest NETT grosser ever but its collections are lower than Simmba in most circuits. The main difference between the two films was that Uri - The Surgical Strike did unbelievable business down South which took it ahead of Simmba.

 

 

Uri - The Surgical Strike has to be the biggest Hindi blockbuster in the South markets outside Sholay. The only place where it is not unbelievable in South is Marathawada but that is not actually South but by chance falls in the Nizam circuit for Hindi films. If we take the ratio of actual South then this film has collected at a 350 crore nett plus level for all India which is insane for a medium budget film. 

 

 

A patriotic film has also never been led by the South markets since the industry started. A patriotic film has always outperformed in the bigger Hindi circuits.
