The real box battle between Golmaal Again and Secret Superstar is yet to start in earnest but round one has gone to Secret Superstar which has got a far better release looking at the size and anticipation on the film. The film will be lagging Golmaal Again in terms of screens and capacity but it has the cream and even has a good share of the single screens that collect well. Secret Superstar will release on 1100 theatres across the country which should mean around 1800 screens. The screen count is not clear with Golmaal Again as at the moment the makers are refusing to screen the film on the largest chains (PVR and Inox) as they are only being given 50% of the screens despite being a far bigger film. But eventually they will probably have to screen at these chains as its a huge chunk of the business.

Golmaal Again has lost the battle at a distribution level despite being the bigger film and looking a potential opener. The distributors have the film woke up late and even managed to lose good single screens as they tried to pressurize but it was too late in the day. Due to certain relations it was pretty much known that Golmaal Again will only get 50% screens at PVR and Inox so the best bet was to open advance and that is where things could have changed as it was easily going to record much higher sales than Secret Superstar for the weekend. There will be centres outside metros which will see changes but it will be too late now while advance results may have pushed the changes faster. Now they will probably still have to open at PVR and Inox with 50% shows and with no advance.

The screen count of Golmaal Again could go over 3000 screens but its the capacity that is an issue. There will be a lot of low collecting screens in this screens count. So the screen count could be like a Toilet Ek Prem Katha but the capacity will be nothing like that and its all about the capacity which is the potential to collect.

Despite being a potential grosser and a big brand it has gone all wrong for Golmaal Again pre release and this brand factor has been taken out of the equation with the release as far as initial goes. It is not going to realize its potential on day one which was huge.
