The Punjabi film Angrej took a very strong opening recording the third highest opening ever for a Punjabi film in East Punjab for a Punjabi film after Sardaarji and Jatt & Juliet 2 while the All India collections were the fourth highest ever after Sardaarji, Jatt & Juliet 2 and Punjab 1984.

The all India collections were 1.15 crore nett appx making it the sixth film to cross the 1 crore nett mark though business is at higher levels now with Sardaaji crossing 2 crore nett. It is the highest opening ever for a film not featuring Diljit Dosanjh in the main lead. The film grossed more than double the new Hindi release Drishyam which fared very poorly in the circuit.
