Cheeku, a young girl of seventeen lives with her family in a mystical Himalayan village in Kumaon. The peace and happiness in their lives is disturbed by the fact that her father has been missing for almost a year and their house is now under serious threat. The local lawyer and an unscrupulous, powerful villager leave no stone unturned in their attempt to sell Cheeku's house.
Meanwhile, Cheeku's younger brother, Hansa is oblivious to all that’s happening at home, and is busy playing cricket with his thick pal. Set in a surreal place with stories that couldn't have been more real, Hansa is a stark film about the seemingly simple lives of two mountain children and the bizarre turns they take in the course of a mere week.
