Kahaani 2 had a low weekend with business of 16.50 crore nett. The trend is not really there to suggest a strong Monday as it had to jump more on Saturday from the start it had. The film has to hold very strong on Monday to have a chance but as we saw last week Dear Zindagi had a noticeable drop on Monday  as this film is doing its best business in the same circuits as Dear Zindagi. In fact the circuit ratios are very similar to Dear Zindagi. Kahaani has fared best in West Bengal followed by Mysore followed by Mumbai while for Kahaani its West Bengal followed by Mysore and the Mumbai. North India is not uto the mark while Gujarat, Rajasthan, Bihar etc are poor.. Below are the first weekend collections of Kahaani 2.

Kahaani released in 2012 had first weekend of 13.36 crore nett so this is less in real terms. The only chance for the film is 25-30% drop on Monday which could give it a decent run. A normal drop will mean low occupancy on Monday which will make it difficult after the first week. Despite being a content film the fact that its a sequel makes sustaining harder as sequels have to start better than Kahaani 2 did.
