The weekend box office seems to be slowly getting better as again Saturday shows huge jumps across the board. Drishyam 2 is extraordinary as it will probably double its collections at least and maybe even more than double but more than that there is growth for Bhediya and An Action Hero which have not worked which would never have happened around six months back.
Bhediya is likely to show growth of 80-90% while An Action hero should be around 50-60%. There is a definite change now compared to earlier days when cinemas started up post the pandemic. There is a larger audience venturing out to cinemas over the weekend and this can be seen by the box office of the last month or so. Yes there may not be huge jump on Sunday but that is done to the Saturday growth but the the actual audience is bigger on Sunday.
The initials are an issue but that is down to the content and the better films have proved that initials also happen. The difference now compared to earlier is if for the bigger centres can take a 3-4 crore nett opening there is hope of potential growth like before the pandemic and this gives these types of films a chance to succeed. The harder part is the initial but surely that will improve also at some point next year.
