The box office saw a good day on New Years Day as all three films playing benefitted from holidays. 83 and Spiderman - No Way Home are looking at 70% jump and should collect in the 7 and 5 crore nett range respectively while Pushpa (Hindi) has seen a similar jump in multiplexes but with a big ratio of business coming from single screens the overall jump maybe a bit less but still should collect 5.50 crore nett plus.
Pushpa (Hindi) is still the best performing film as its collections on Saturday may well turn out to highest in its run till date. There are some circuits numbers which have come which are the highest till date since release. The film is now collecting double of 83 in many cities across India and it is closing the gap in cities like Mumbai and Kolkata every day.
83 on New Years Day has got a jump like it should unlike last week when it never happened for the film on Christmas Day. It is too late in the day as this should have really happened last Saturday but obviously it struggled to get the jump on higher numbers. Despite the jump it will be just a matter of time when Pushpa (Hindi) goes ahead as the appreciation for Pushpa (Hindi) is far ahead of the appreciation for 83. Pushpa is likely to perform outside the holidays as collections in Gujarat have simply gone crazy. The cinemas in many cities of Haryana will close doors from tomorrow and this will affect all three films.
