Sooryavanshi has bought the box office to life as its likely to collect in the 26 crore nett range on day one as per early estimates. The early territory numbers are coming in very similar to Golmaal Again but its likely that Mumbai will lag due to Maharashtra being at 50% occupancy.

It does look the Gujarat / Saurashtra numbers have edged past Golmaal Again. There is super strong performance at places while other places have underperformed but this is mainly as the box office itself is not at an optimum. Its not really under performance but looks it due to issues in the circuit or city. The film itself has done as well as it could with the late release this morning and state of the box office. 

Sooryavanshi has had huge performance in single screens of UP but multiplexes in UP and Delhi have scope for improvement, Even East Punjab has been hit by 50% restriction in Haryana and competition from Punjabi film in Punjab. The Haryana side restriction was not an issue for Punjabi films as their business is limited from Haryana but for a Hindi film like Sooryavanshi the collections would have been much better with 100% occupancy.

The struggling Hindi belt has been bought to life with the film especially the single screen be it UP, Bihar, Rajasthan or Madhya Pradesh. Sooryavanshi has probably bought the industry to around 80% of the level it was pre pandemic and it is the first film back at the right time. this will only get better and in a month or so there maybe no difference of pre and post pandemic.

The collections of Eternals are also solid and could finish near the 8 crore nett making it the best result for Hollywood post the pandemic. Together both films will be looking at a 33-35 crore nett total for the big Diwali holiday which is similar to what Housefull 4 did in 2019 on this very day.
