Bell Bottom showed some life on Sunday with collections set to be around 4.25-4.50 crore nett. Its not much of an number but least the collections have shot up to what can be called a respectable level for daily business in this scenario with 50% occupancy and just 40% of the market in operation with Maharashtra shut and rest of the market having almost 50% properties shut.
The growth was pretty much cross the board in all the circuits though South seems to be less. The weekend business of the film will be around 13 crore nett which is low but that Sunday growth does paint a little better picture. It was Raksha Bandhan on Sunday but the mass pockets which fly on Raksha Bandhan like UP, Gujarat and CI are not showing much more growth than Delhi NCR. In a normal scenario they would be showing much more growth. Normally they would be close to double Friday on a normal Sunday but here with Raksha Bandhan advantage its 40-50% growth from Friday.
It is possible the awareness of a new film could be less in Hindi states as its been a long since there has been a major release but is not major issue in long run as awareness will come as more films release. Now its about what Monday can do and there was little hope after Saturday but now after Sunday the makers and the industry can at least hope for a reasonable hold on Monday though it will be tough.
