Baaghi 3 did pretty good business on day one as it collected 17.50 crore nett making it the biggest opening day of of the year. The film was probably hit by the corona news but that would be maybe around 10-15% but this news ensured that the film had little chance of hitting the 20 crore nett. The slowing down of ticket sales could be seen in the advance on Thursday.
The film was also the biggest release of the year hitting 4300 screens as it got the widest release ever in Tamil Nadu / Kerala for a Hindi film which is not dubbed in a South language. The film released in 120 cinemas in Kerala and almost 100 cinemas in Tamil Nadu. The cinemas in Kerala do not give high collections but Tiger Shroff has a following there and this can be seen by the releases and numbers of all his action films.
The best numbers of the film came in Gujarat / Saurashtra, CP Berar, Bihar and Odisha as smaller multiplexes and single screens recorded very good collections in these places. The collections in Delhi NCR, Punjab and Mumbai city were pretty much average and have scope for solid improvement over the next few days. It is Holi period so collections will be up and down in different states though its hard to tell how Holi will play out with the corona news around. The holi holiday is on Monday and it will probably be Wednesday when it is all normal for the film.
Basically if the film can just sustain at normal; levels from here it will do well at the box office. If circuits like Delhi NCR and East Punjab jump then there is even more potentiol for the film. The Baaghi franchise has now seen solid initials for all three of its outings and the collections are as follows.
Baaghi - 11,93,00,000 (2750 screens)
Baaghi 2 (2018) - 25,00,00,000 (Good Friday) (3500 screens)
Baaghi 3 (2020) - 17,50,00,000 (4300 screens)
