The clash between Tanhaji - The Unsung Warrior and Chhapaak is one sided and pretty much as expected and its hard to understand why a Chhapaak clashes when its not a holiday over the weekend but a minor holidays on the weekdays. There is a no major release on 17th January so surely it would have been a better idea to come then and it would have better collections for sure even though the film is not upto the mark.

 

 

The opening of Chhapaak is even lower than a film like Judgementall Hai Kya which collected 4.54 crore nett and even lower than the other Deepika Padukone solo starrer Finding Fanny but more than Deepika Padukone its the films as the likes of Chhapaak and Finding Fanny hardly have an audience but each artist depends on choices.

 

 

The release of Chhapaak has affected Tanhaji - The Unsung Warrior across the country outside Maharashtra as the film has that regional feel so it does not have that traction in a Punjab or Bengal compared to a Maharashtra and when there is another film then the collections go even lower in these places. Tanhaji - The Unsung Waarior has done around 50% of its business in Mumbai circuit which includes Gujarat / Saurashtra.

 

 

If we take Maharashtra state alone then it would also be close to 7 crore nett as we take out Gujarat / Saurashtra and add Marathawada and the Maharashtra stations of CP Berar circuit. The all India first day comparison for Tanhaji - The Unsung Warrior and Chhapaak is as follows.
