Kalank has come and faltered at the box office in India but even after the 50% second day drop it still had a chance. The best comparison with Kalank is Gold which also had a Wednesday release. Gold was not a major HIT or anything but also had a holiday period release and a big drop on day two and eventually did AVERAGE business.
The difference between Kalank and Gold is that Fri- Sun business where Gold made a recovery while Kalank could not recover. When a film has such a big drop on day two then HIT business goes out of the window and its about getting to the AVERAGE mark and for that Kalank needed that Friday to go up well especially as it was a part holiday.
The five day numbers of Kalank and Gold are not much different and even Monday is not much different but there is a big difference on Saturday and Sunday. Gold was aided by the holiday factor in the weekdays and eventually went to the 100 crore nett plus mark which is impossible for Kalank. The first six day comparison of Gold and Kalank is a s follows.
