Kalank had the best advance booking of 2019 with collections of 10 crore nett apprx before release. This is the first a time a film has hit a double digit advance this year and it is also the first time that a Varun Dhawan starrer has managed a double digit advance and an Alia Bhatt starrer also.
The film has comfortably beaten the advance numbers of Kesari and Gully Boy though it is five days for Kalank against four days for the other two from where the advance has come from. The extra day does not make much of a difference when its a long weekend as a bigger ratio of advance comes for the first day with a long weekend than a normal weekend with that extra day hardly contributing.
If we compare with Gully Boys the advance was always likely to better at single screens and regular multiplexes but its is also better at the 100 odd high multiplexes where Gully Boy managed to do well. There was a fuss made about the high ticket rates for the film but its just the usual media stuff as ticket pricing is same as films like Kesari and Simmba and well short of the rates of Thugs Of Hindostan. This is comparing the ATP (Average Ticket Rate) on the advance of these films.

The top advances of 2019 till date are as follows
1. Kalank - 10 Crore (5 days)
2. Kesari - 7.64 crore (4 Days)
3. Gully Boy - 7.20 crore (4 Days)
4. Total Dhamaal - 6.37 crore (3 Days)
The above four films were the only films have some sort of advance this year and were the only films that had sizeable wekend collections. All figures are pre release all India collections.
