Sui Dhaaga - Made In India had a decent first day of around 8.25 crore nett apprx with the big cricket match slowing the collections in the evening and that too when the target audience would have been coming for the film. The match was very tight and close which meant limited footfalls in the night shows. The youth did not really come for the film in the morning as there was nothing there in the trailer for them barring Varun Dhawan but it still did well to reach this mark without the evening audience. The music of the film really hit the opening prospects of the film as even the biggest stars need some support from music.

The film could have near double digits if the match was not there which would have been a good result for the film. The opening was similar to films like Pad Man and Raid which went near double digits as there was no match but with wider releases. The match had also affected the advance of the film which was practically non existent for the evening shows.

Sui Dhaaga - Made In India will be about the growth over the weekend and how the families take to the film. The growth will come over the weekend as it makes up the lost ground on Friday and if the weekend family audience takes to the film it will sustain very well.

The film is already safe commercially speaking as the satellite and digital revenue has covered all the costs of the film but its the theatrical run that makes the film beneficial for all especially the talent in the film.

Pataakha has fared poorly on day one with collections in the 75-80 lakhs nett range. The film is from the family  films like Gala Guleiyan, Love Sonia and Manto but has managed to have better collections than those films.

But with landing cost going over 20 crore it is far costly than those films and with such a low start it does not have much of a chance.
