Soorma opened to decent houses in the multiplexes of Punjab and Delhi city at around 30-35% while collections in most other places were low at around 10-15%. The film is a North based subject and Diljit Dosanjh is a star so this has meant a decent start in the North. Its not like a Punjabi film of Diljit Dosanjh as the language makes the differences but opening is far better in North compared to other content films like 102 Not Out and Hichki. The opening at some multiplexes in East Punjab and Delhi is on par with Raazi.

The story is different in places like CP Berar, West Bengal and Nizam / Andhra where collections are very low. Mumbai is also low but not as bad as the above mentioned. Here it is below the likes of Hichki and 102 Not Out. If Mumbai can pick up then this film will can well as North is likely to be board and Mumbai and North is enough for good numbers for a film of this size,

The opening comparison of the opening show collections of Soorma, Hichki and 102 Not Out are below. All the figures below are like for like.
