The final financials for 2017 are below and they actually make healthy reading which is not the case. The main figures of Nett gross and footfalls see good rises and ticket prices have not risen as much as previous years but its still been a bad year.
The reasons for this one, it includes Bahubali - The Conclusion which will not happen every year and secondly the NETT figures show a near 11% price because of GST which meant for half the year the NETT collections had a better share of the GROSS as GST worked out better for the Hindi markets as against Entertainment Tax.
The GROSS numbers give a better picture and the rise there is a more modest 7% and that is with Bahubali - The Conclusion. Take that out and and then there is a 11% fall. The ticket prices also say modest rises as post GST ticket prices got a little cheaper but by the end of the year they were back at the highest level ever. But with no ticket price growth in the third quarter meant a modest yearly rise.
