Padman will have a Republic Day release on 26th January as 2.0 (Robot 2) featuring South Superstar Rajnikant and Akshay Kumar gets postponed to a later date. The delay is because of VFX work to be done abroad and the new date for this film is 13 April 2018 which was the earlier Padman release date. This is just a working date and it is not a certainty that the film will come on this date and could be pushed into the summer. This film is going to be the white horse next year and could upset the release schedule badly until there is complete clarity as to when this film will make it to the theatres.

Padman which also stars Akshay Kumar now gets a very good date with day one falling on Republic Day and with this is another content film like Toilet Ek Prem Katha which is not a killer opening type of film but with this release now it has potential to put up a very good first day number.
